  Dear Friends,

Hi once again and let me say from the beginning of this letter. I'm so sorry to be late with getting a newsletter to you. I won't go into my health issues as I usually do, but for the most part my health remains the same. I do want to get you "up to date" with what is happening with my book. I know that I have given you several dates before, but I talked with the publisher last Friday and they ASSURED me that the book would be available by APRIL 15TH! ! ! !

Larry Black, of Larry's Country Diner and Country Family Reunion, is going to be in charge
of the promotion and distribution of my book. Please watch Larry's Country Diner on RFD for information on where to order my book. I will also put that information on my website:
www.jeanshepardcountry.com.
Just in case any of you are thinking about writing a book . . . . you'd better give this
some thought. It MIGHT take 15 years like it did me! ha ha

I'm very honored to let you know, that the Tennessee General Assembly has passed Senate Joint Resolution # 0532 recognizing my 58 years at the Grand Ole Opry and my 62 years in the music business. The formal ceremony will be held in the Senate Chamber, during session at the Capitol on March 17th, 2014. I am very honored to accept this Resolution.

Our weather here in Nashville has been very crappy, thanks to some of our Canadian friends (whom I LOVE very much!) keep sending us Alberta clippers! Tonight, they are calling for a 1/4 inch of freezing rain here in Music City USA!

I'm also excited to have ANOTHER great-grandbaby, Alana Jordan Ketterman, born
January 7th of this year. She is a precious doll!

As you probably know, we have lost several of our music friends recently. The latest
being our dear friend Penny DeHaven.

I'm not working the road much anymore, due to my health, but I'm still performing every week at the Grand Ole Opry. I won't say that I have retired "completely" from the road, as my health will determine if I can or not.

As most of you know, I have been a spokesperson for my good friends at Springer Mountain Farms for quite a while. Gus Arrendale, President and CEO, was up to see us at the Opry a few weeks ago and we all had a great time! Gus has helped with finishing this book. Without his help, we'd STILL be behind schedule! ha ha

In closing, I want to thank all of you for your patience in bearing with me while I got my health under control and this book published. The official title is, "Down Through the Years".

Sincerely,
         Jean
